Bone Marrow Transplant Director

This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until September 30, 2026. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis and qualified candidates will be considered as vacancies become available. Applications will remain on file until December 31, 2026. The Bone Marrow Transplant Director is responsible for the daily administrative and clinical operations of the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit Section at the Puget Sound VA Healthcare System and reports directly to the Hospital and Specialty Medicine Care Line Director.

The Bone Marrow Transplant (MTU) Director will work in the following units: MTU Inpatient wards and MTU Outpatient and other Subspecialty Clinic areas. The teaching program is affiliated with the University Of Washington School of Medicine, and a faculty appointment commensurate with training and experience will also be considered. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Admit, evaluate, diagnosis, provide treatment or consultative services to patients presenting with illness and disorders of the blood, blood forming tissues and malignant disorders.
  • Perform specialty procedures as delineated in their clinical privileges.
  • Take part in continuing medical education (as defined by licensure), and quality assurance activities.
  • Supervision, training, and teaching of the University of Washington Hematology/Oncology fellows and students who are assigned to the VA.

Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA. Insurance:
Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement). Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory. CME:

Contract:

No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting.

Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.
