Position Description

The University of Washington Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and the Division of Pediatric Otolaryngology at Seattle Children’s Hospital invites applications for a full-time pediatric otolaryngologist at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor without tenure by reason of funding (WOT). The successful candidate will join a cohesive and innovative division and develop a comprehensive pediatric otolaryngology practice caring for children with the full spectrum of common and complex conditions.

The anticipated start date is September 1, 2027, but could be as soon as January 1, 2027.

Assistant Professors WOT are eligible for 3-year, renewable term that aligns with a 12-month Service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.

Associate Professors WOT hold indefinite appointments that aligns with a 12-month Service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.

This position will be based at Seattle Children’s Hospital and affiliated ambulatory care sites. Clinical responsibilities include outpatient and surgical care, inpatient consultation and call, and the supervision and education of medical students, residents, and fellows. As a leading pediatric referral center serving Washington, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho, Seattle Children’s offers exceptional clinical breadth, dedicated pediatric surgical resources, and close collaboration with audiology, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary programs spanning aerodigestive and airway care, hearing loss and cochlear implantation, craniofacial conditions and velopharyngeal dysfunction, vascular anomalies, sleep, sinus, voice, thyroid disease, and cranial base surgery.

Assistant Professor WOT Rank:
The base salary range for this position at the Assistant Professor WOT rank will be: $25,834 - $27,084 per month ($310,008 - $325,008 annually) based on a full-time rate commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University.

Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through Children’s University Medical Group. The UW department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery targets the AAMC 50th percentile for total salary.

Associate Professor WOT Rank:
The base salary range for this position at the Associate Professor WOT rank will be: $34,167 - $36,667 per month ($410,004 - $440,004 annually) based on a full-time rate commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
