DescriptionThe Neurology Department at the University of Washington invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor without tenure due to funding, with an anticipated start date of July, 2027. We seek applicants who demonstrate commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. The successful candidate(s) will join our faculty on a full-time basis for a twelve-month appointment beginning July 1, 2027.
Assistant, Associate, and Full Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The base salary range for these positions will be $21,249 - $23,212 per month ($254,988 - $278,544 per year) for the Assistant Professor title, $23,868-$25,948 per month ($286,416-$311,376 per year) for the Associate Professor title, or $26,551-$29,049 per month ($318,612-$348,588 per year) for the Professor title, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
The successful candidate will participate in outpatient and inpatient care of patients with sleep disorders, utilizing all clinical modalities. This individual will interpret a wide variety sleep studies including: home sleep apnea tests, polysomnograms (both diagnostic and titration studies), multiple sleep latency tests, maintenance of wakefulness tests, and actigraphy. You will interact with an outstanding and dedicated multidisciplinary group of sleep medicine physicians and advanced practice registered nurses.
All University of Washington faculty are expected to engage in teaching, research, and service.
QualificationsApplicants for this position must meet the following minimum qualifications:
M.D., D.O., or foreign equivalent degree, eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Washington, and certification or eligibility for certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Neurology (or foreign equivalent).
- In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
