North Seattle French School is seeking an experienced, thoughtful, and collaborative Director of Curriculum & Instruction to guide the academic life of our bilingual French–English school serving students in preschool through Grade
5. This role is ideal for a strategic educator who loves collaborative curriculum design, mentoring teachers, and building coherence across languages, grade levels, and educational systems
.

A key part of the senior leadership team and reporting to the Head of School, the Director of Curriculum & Instruction provides pedagogical leadership that balances vision with practicality, structure with creativity, and high standards with deep care for people.

• Promote a cohesive, bilingual academic vision by ensuring alignment with the French Ministry of Education (AEFE) and Washington State Common Core standards, strengthening vertical and horizontal curriculum alignment, and collaboratively shaping meaningful cross-linguistic coherence.
• Support and grow excellent teaching through mentoring, coaching, and professional development; design thoughtful onboarding and collaboration systems; and contribute pedagogical insight to hiring and teacher evaluations.
• Oversee assessment and academic quality by coordinating student assessments, reviewing report cards, and supporting data-informed reflection on student learning and instructional practice.
• Serve as an institutional and community partner by fostering strong relationships with French and regional partner organizations, supporting accreditations, actively contributing to family engagement and school events, and clearly communicating curricula to current and prospective members of the NSFS community.
• Ensure strong operational foundations for learning by managing the curriculum budget, overseeing instructional resources and scheduling, and collaborating with operations staff to ensure students and teachers are set up for success.

This is an exempt, salaried, full-time position with a salary range between $82,000 and $88,000 annually based on qualifications and prior experience.
