SUMMARYClassical Ballet Instructors are responsible for teaching ballet technique to all students associated with PNBS. This position will focus on teaching classical ballet to male identifying students, with an emphasis on curriculum for ages 5-12. Ability to teach mid to upper-level curriculum and experience teaching adult classes is a plus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Create a welcoming, healthy and safe learning environment for all students, allowing them to grow and learn by setting class-based rules and boundaries centered on mutual respect, understanding and class etiquette
- Prepare and teach engaging classes in classical ballet to students ages 5 to 12.
- Prepare and deliver lessons plans per the PNB syllabus
- Explain and demonstrate proper techniques
- Instruct students while delivering information clearly, concisely, and effectively
- Establish and communicate clear objectives
- Serve as a positive role model
- Create choreography for annual School Performance and select accompanying music
- Maintain student attendance records
- Teach to maximize each student’s balletic potential
- Assess and support individual student learning styles
- Collaborate with other members of the faculty, staff, and accompanists
- Ability to teach mid-to-upper-level classes including Open Adult classes
- Participate in faculty, staff, and syllabus meetings
- Communicate effectively with Directors, School Principals and colleagues either in person, through email or video communications
- Support school-wide initiatives and programs
- Attend and lead student conferences when asked
- Ability to teach mid-to-upper levels and Open Adult Classes
- Strong professional work ethic, professional demeanor and behavior
- Comprehensive knowledge of classical ballet technique
- Reliable, accountable, responsible, adaptable and flexible
- Ability to travel to multiple PNBS locations
- Prior experience working with students 5 and above
$52.00 - $70.00/hour/year;
Hourly, Non-Exempt
Full time 20 teaching hours/week for 42-43 weeks/season (Jul-Jun)
