Location: Remote-first with virtual and hybrid delivery options (primarily Washington State)
Cougs 4 Kids is seeking a dedicated volunteer leader to serve as College Is Possible Training Director within our College Access Unit. In this role, you’ll design, coordinate, and deliver modular, interactive workshops that equip students and families with the knowledge and confidence to navigate the college-going process successfully. You will also train and support a team of volunteers to help deliver these workshops and extend our reach.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Build and manage a modular curriculum covering college readiness topics, including applications, financial aid (FAFSA), scholarships, academic planning, and transition skills.
- Facilitate engaging virtual or hybrid workshops using tools like Google Meet and Google Classroom.
- Recruit, train, and coordinate a small support team of volunteers to ensure high-quality delivery.
- Collaborate with partners across Washington State to tailor content, recruit participants, and strengthen community connections.
- Monitor engagement, collect feedback, and support continuous improvement of workshop outcomes.
- Document impact metrics and share insights with leadership for storytelling and program development.
- Experience in college access, advising, youth development, education, or a related area.
- Strong communicator and facilitator, comfortable leading sessions online.
- Able to lead volunteers and work independently while contributing to a collaborative mission-driven team.
- Familiarity with college admissions basics, financial aid processes, and digital collaboration tools.
- Passion for expanding access to educational opportunities for historically under-resourced communities.
- Flexible commitment averaging ~5–10 hours/month during planning phases, increasing during workshop periods; minimum one-year.
- Background check and youth protection training required.
- Completion of trauma-informed practice, cultural sensitivity, and youth safety training.
