This is a seasonal position starts on May 21, 2026, and ends on September 4, 2026.
This is a 40 hour per week, Monday through Friday from 8 AM - 4:30 PM.

- Are a Natural Leader:
Supervising, leading and motivating a team of instructors, ensuring high quality program delivery and camper engagement is an area in which you excel. Using your leadership skills, you can observe, coach, and support instructors throughout the camp season to ensure program efficacy and instructor development. - Are an Experienced Camp Instructor:
Utilizing your experience, you can ensure effective facilitation of age‑appropriate conservation curriculum, including preparing instructional materials and working with Instructors to ensure activities are engaging. You are excited to help facilitate daily transitional activities, including songs and games. Conducting reflection activities to ensure instructors are effectively conveying curriculum is something you are excited to take on. - Know that Safety and Fun Go Together:
You are ready to assist with facilitation of camper pick up and drop off procedures, and to act as the first line of communication with camp caregivers. Ensuring incident reports are organized and resolved in a timely manner is important to you. As is ensuring that all safety protocols are followed and an environment that prioritizes the safety and well‑being of camp participants is maintained.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and maintain an environment that prioritizes the safety and well‑being of camp participants.
- Supervise, lead and motivate a team of instructors, ensuring high quality program delivery and camper engagement.
- Observe, coach, and support instructors throughout the camp season to ensure program efficacy and instructor development.
- Monitor and confirm that instructors’ timecards are complete and accurate each pay period.
- Respond to instructors and campers throughout the day maintaining a positive and supportive environment.
- Monitor camp communication channels and respond to calls.
- Provide supervision and behavior management for campers as needed.
- Provide supervision and mediate conflicts among families, campers, and instructors.
- Conduct reflection activities to ensure instructors are effectively conveying curriculum.
- Plan and lead morning meetings and support daily prep time for program instructors.
- Ability to speak a language in addition to English.
- First Aid and CPR certificates
- Two (2) or more years of combined education and experience in early childhood, natural science, or environmental education.
- Experience leading a team, monitoring performance, and providing coaching and support.
- Experience presenting thematically based interpretive programs or classes to audiences of all ages.
- Ability to listen patiently and attentively, express yourself clearly and effectively, and adapt communication based on audience and purpose with inclusivity.
- Ability to employ best practices associated with the position, with an approach to accuracy, while displaying an ongoing commitment to learning and self‑improvement.
