St. Alphonsus Catholic School is seeking a dependable, warm, and organized Extended Care Aide to supervise students in grades K–6 during our after‑school program. This part‑time position plays an important role in providing a safe, structured, and joyful environment as students transition from the school day to home. The Extended Care Aide supervises students in the cafeteria and on the playground until parent pickup.

The ideal candidate is reliable, flexible, and a strong communicator who can maintain calm, orderly spaces while building positive relationships with students and families.

Candidates are encouraged to inquire about staffing for summer day care.

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 3:00–6:00 PM
• Wednesday: 2:00–6:00 PM

• Supervise K–6 students in the cafeteria and playground after school
• Maintain a safe, structured, and orderly environment
• Be firm, fair, and consistent in student discipline
• Encourage and support homework completion
• Facilitate engaging, screen‑free activities (board games, group games, quiet reading, etc.)
• Communicate professionally with parents during pickup
• Ensure smooth dismissal procedures and accurate student sign‑out

• Reliable and punctual
• Strong communicator with both students and parents
• Firm, fair, and consistent with discipline
• Flexible and able to manage mixed‑age groups
• Enjoys working with children
• Desire to work in a Catholic school environment and support the mission of the school

A successful aide creates a calm, cheerful atmosphere where students feel safe and known. They keep students engaged without screen time, proactively manage behavior, and encourage responsibility—especially when it comes to homework and respectful conduct.

$24–$29 per hour, depending on experience. Since this is a part‑time position, it does not include health/medical benefits.
