Position Summary

The Seattle Colleges are looking for innovative and dedicated faculty members who have a demonstrated commitment to working within a college community that is diverse and serves students from a broad spectrum of socioeconomic and academic backgrounds. Faculty will teach part-time in a wide range of political science courses. Successful applicants will have the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, staff and others in a campus climate that promotes cultural diversity and multicultural understanding in an urban environment.

Successful applicants may be invited to interview at one of the colleges in the Seattle Colleges District, North Seattle, Seattle Central, or South Seattle. Specific teaching assignments will be dependent on the instructor's background, scheduling, and available courses.

Candidates should be willing to teach in a variety of formats such as in-class, hybrid, online and varied class times including days, evenings, and weekends according to program needs.

This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by AFT-Seattle.

The salary range for part time faculty is $7,110.33 - $10,649.33 (P1: A1- E7). Target start rate of pay for this position is $7,110.33 - $8,226.33 (for a 5-credit single-class workload per quarter)

What you will be working on:

* Develop the course syllabus following departmental guidelines and in accordance with the master course outline (MCO), and submit syllabus to the division office at the start of each quarter

* Teach classes as assigned for the ECFS program in face-to-face classroom settings and/or online using the CANVAS learning management system

* Prepare for and provide quality teaching that includes planning & preparation, instructional practice, and grading

* Maintain accurate records of students

* Be available to students and respond to questions and concerns as needed.

* Perform related duties as assigned, including timely compliance with clerical and administrative responsibilities, college policies, division policies and department policies

What you bring as a candidate:

* Master's degree in education, Child & Family Studies, Play/Art/Expressive Therapy, Human Development, Special Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field

* Background and understanding of whole child development, and culturally responsive teaching/learning

* Depending on the course assigned to teach, a minimum of three years of full-time professional experience,
