* Job Summary:
** The Elementary Classroom Teacher designs and leads an engaging, student-centered classroom experience that supports academic growth, character development, and a strong sense of community. This role plans and delivers developmentally appropriate instruction, builds strong relationships with students and families, and collaborates closely with grade-level teams and specialists. Elementary faculty at STS are reflective practitioners who are open to feedback, willing to try new approaches, and committed to creating inclusive learning environments where every student feels known and supported.
** Specific Responsibilities:
*** Plans and delivers engaging, standards-aligned instruction across core subject areas.
* Incorporates hands-on experiential learning opportunities and adjusts instructional strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners.
* Integrates social-emotional learning and character development into daily classroom practice.
* Uses a variety of assessment methods to monitor student growth and inform instructional decisions.
* Implements classroom management practices that support a safe, inclusive, and productive learning environment.
* Fosters student independence, collaboration, and confidence within a positive, growth-oriented classroom culture.
* Regularly provides meaningful feedback to families regarding student progress and classroom learning.
* Collaborates with specialists, counselors, and families to support individual student needs.
* Creates and maintains a classroom environment where all students feel safe, included, and valued.
* Actively engages in the life of the school and contributes to community-wide events and programs.
* Upholds and models the mission, values, and strategic priorities of STS.
* Demonstrates respect for diverse perspectives and a commitment to equity and inclusion.
* Communicates effectively and professionally with students, families, and colleagues.
* Collaborates across departments and participates in grade level and division meetings to support a cohesive preschool through eighth grade experience.
* Maintains confidentiality and handles sensitive information with discretion.
