Curriculum Development
  • Design and implement a challenging and comprehensive mathematics curriculum that aligns with state standards and the school's mission.
  • Integrate Ignatian values and principles into the mathematics curriculum, fostering critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and a commitment to social justice.
Instruction and Classroom Management
  • Deliver effective and engaging mathematics lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods, technology, and real-world examples to make mathematical concepts relevant and accessible to students.
Assessment and Feedback
  • Evaluate student performance through assessments, projects, and examinations.
  • Use formative assessment to inform instruction and help students self-assess their progress and summative assessments.
  • Assessments designed with the professional learning community.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students, helping them understand their strengths and areas for improvement.
Student Support

Qualifications
  • Competencies:

    Ability to teach various mathematics courses and age levels; understanding of educational theory and practice; ability to teach a range of courses offered by the department; ability to use current learning management technology; commitment to working with a diverse student body; strong interpersonal and communication skills; excellent communication skills and a commitment to collaboration.
  • Requirements:
    Bachelor's or Master s degree in Mathematics or a related field; teaching certification or relevant education credentials; previous teaching experience, preferably at the high school level; familiarity with Jesuit education principles and a commitment to Bellarmine's mission.
