Position: Part-Time Faculty Pool - World Language Instructor

Position Summary

Seattle Colleges are looking for dedicated faculty with a commitment to serve a diverse student body. This part‑time position involves teaching a wide range of political science courses. Successful applicants will be able to work effectively in an urban campus climate that promotes cultural diversity and multicultural understanding. Candidates may be interviewed at North Seattle, Seattle Central, or South Seattle, with specific assignments based on background, scheduling, and course availability.

They must be willing to teach in in‑class, hybrid, or online formats and accommodate varied class times such as days, evenings, and weekends.

This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by AFT‑Seattle.

Salary range: $7,110.33 – $10,649.33 per quarter (P1: A1–E7). Target start rate: $7,110.33 – $8,226.33 (5‑credit single‑class workload per quarter).

  • An understanding of the goals and role of community college
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to teach multiple levels on the topic of study
  • Master's Degree or PhD in the field or related field from an accredited institution
  • A demonstrated commitment to working within a diverse college community that serves students from a broad spectrum of socioeconomic and academic backgrounds
  • Innovative teaching methods including the use of technology and collaborative learning
  • The ability to work collaboratively with others in a professional setting
