Position Description
The Department of Child, Family & Population Health Nursing(CFPHN) in the School of Nursingat the University of Washington invites applications for lecturers withan anticipated start date of September 16, 2026. We seek applicants whodemonstratecommitment to excellence in teaching and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. The successful candidate will join our faculty on a part-time(60-80%
FTE) basis for a nine-month academic,multi-year renewable appointment beginning
September 16, 2026.
The base salary range for this position will be $8600- $9600per month,commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

We are hiring for two positions;with specific needs in family, nurse midwifery, and pediatric tracks.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
Contribute and foster awelcoming environment with acommitmentto teaching and mentoring students in undergraduate and graduateprogramsandworking collaboratively across disciplines and academic backgrounds.
Cultivating an instructionalenvironmentthat provides students with the opportunity to receive and share feedback on a continuing basis, and within regular office hours.
Support the department’s instructional mission within the scope of faculty teaching as outlined in the Faculty Code Section 24-32C,including:
Effectively preparing and delivering course content that meets the academic standardsbenefittingthe University of Washington and stated learning goals for the assigned course(s).
Ensure that course materials and requirements are effectively communicated to students usingappropriateand effective teaching strategies,technologies,and student evaluation methods.
Ensure course grades are submitted accurately and in a timeline matter.
Qualifications
Applicants for this instructional faculty position must meet the following minimum qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’sdegree in Nursing,oracloselyrelated field,bythestartdate of appointment
Active, unencumbered Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license or a multistate license (MSL) recognized by Washington(or eligibility by time of hire)
Recent and relevant clinical and/or teaching experience in the specialty to be taught
Certification intherelevant specialty area and an active, unencumbered Washington State Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner license (ARNP) or eligibility by time of hire if teaching in a specific DNP track (e.g.,FNP,PNP, CNM)
At leasttwo years of clinical experience in specialty area
Desired Qualifications include:
DNP preferred
Experience supporting competency-based nursing education and integrating real-world practice
