Statistics with Aviation Applications (Seattle, WA)
Embry‑Riddle Aeronautical University is hiring adjunct faculty to teach the STAT 211 course in person at our Seattle, WA campus.
Course DescriptionApply basic descriptive and inferential statistics; identify types of data and sampling techniques; compute and interpret measures of central tendency, dispersion, elementary probability, confidence intervals, hypothesis tests and linear regressions. The course incorporates aviation applications and examples throughout.
Responsibilities- Teach the STAT 211 course in accordance with the university’s curriculum and standards.
- Prepare and deliver lesson materials, assignments, exams, and provide feedback to students.
- Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities as required.
- Doctor’s or Master’s degree in teaching discipline, or a Master’s degree with a concentration in teaching discipline (minimum 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline).
- Degrees within the teaching discipline:
Statistics (MS or PhD), Statistics Education, Biostatistics. - Related discipline:
Mathematics, Operations Research, Social Science (e.g., Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, Public Health). - Proof of stated qualifications (official transcripts, professional licenses/certifications, documentation of military experience, or verified professional industry‑related experience).
- Physical location within the United States, including Seattle, WA, during training and instruction.
