Salary Range: $26,619 - $46,613 annually.

Seattle Prep seeks a part‑time Mandarin teacher to teach 2 courses, beginning August 2026.

World Languages at Seattle Prep offer German, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish. The courses focus on listening, reading, speaking, and writing using authentic materials and real‑life situations.

• Teach Mandarin by imparting knowledge, skills, and expertise to students; responsible for curriculum development, assessment, classroom management, and family communication.
• Collaborate with department teachers to ensure consistency and interdisciplinary goals of the program.
• Engage fully in the life of the school: supervision of students, participation in meetings, retreats, professional development, and all school masses and assemblies.
• Fulfill additional supervision duties of full‑time teachers (e.g., study hall).

• A Bachelor's Degree in Mandarin or a related field, and a minimum of two years of related experience, or a combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions.
• Commitment to Prep’s mission and values, especially as it relates to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
• Supportive of the mission of a Catholic, Jesuit high school and formation of the whole person.
• Expertise with a variety of teaching methodologies and ability to teach various courses and grade levels.
• Demonstrated experience collaborating with colleagues.
• Willing participation in the co‑cultural and campus ministry aspects of the school.
• Demonstrated commitment to professional growth.
• Must complete a criminal history background check and safe‑environment training on hire and every 3years.

• A Master's Degree in Teaching, Mandarin, or a related field.
• Five or more years of teaching experience, preferably in a high school.
• Experience with Jesuit or Catholic education.
• Washington State Teaching Credential or other appropriate certification.

Salary is determined based on education and experience within the range of $26,619 – $46,613 annually.
