Reading and Writing Tutor; Magnolia

Job Overview

Tutors work one-on-one with elementary, middle, high school, or adult students to support growth in writing, reading, study skills, and more.

Depending on the student, sessions might focus on building reading fluency and comprehension, strengthening essays, preparing for tests, or developing organizational and study habits to promote independent learning.

Each tutor brings their own methods and materials and decides how to structure sessions to fit the student in front of them.

• Interest in working with elementary and/or middle school students.
• Ability to meet students in Magnolia.

Tutors select when, where, and with whom they are open to working. Meet students at public libraries; no office.

Building up to desired hours takes time. Most tutors work fewer than 20 hours per week, as families typically seek tutoring after school and on weekends.

This position is for long-term commitment: students often work with the same tutor for a full academic year or more. It is not suitable for those seeking short-term work.
