Professional Learning Product Manager

Code.org is an education innovation nonprofit dedicated to ensuring every student in every school has the opportunity to learn about artificial intelligence (AI) and computer science (CS) as part of their core K‑12 education. We increase participation in AI+CS education by reaching students of all backgrounds where they are — at their skill level, in their schools, and in ways that inspire them to keep learning, with a focus on increasing participation by young women and students from other underrepresented groups.

Code.org is seeking a Professional Learning Product Manager to lead the work of our Professional Learning team. In this role you will identify, define, and ship CS and AI professional learning products for K‑12 teachers, leading and managing a team of content developers and collaborating cross‑functionally. Code.org’s professional learning offerings, including self‑paced PL modules, facilitator‑led workshops, and supports embedded in our platform, serve thousands of teachers across the U.S. and around the globe each year.

The product manager will build on the strengths of our current PL offerings while innovating new ways to support the teachers using our curriculum, particularly given the affordances of AI.

The ideal candidate will be a strong product manager with experience supporting educators in the ed‑tech space, technical understanding of CS and AI concepts, and deep knowledge of designing effective and engaging learning experiences for adults. Experience integrating AI into adult learning supports is highly valued.

• With the support of the Director of Teaching and Learning, develop the strategy for Code.org’s professional learning products. Define compelling, right‑sized products to achieve that strategy and work towards organizational goals.
• Manage the team of Code.org professional learning content developers, mentoring them and supporting their growth. Create an inclusive, welcoming, and productive team culture and work environment.
• Lead the team of PL content developers in building and launching products. Manage projects, creating roadmaps and milestones and allocating resources. Standardize workflows, development processes, and pedagogical approaches.
• Set goals and metrics, develop evaluation plans, collect, analyze, and act on data from a variety of sources (pilots, surveys, focus groups, observations). Quantitatively and qualitatively monitor product adoption, usage, retention, and satisfaction and use this data to inform product strategy, features, and improvement.
• Review and provide feedback on PL products in development and manage an external review process using subject matter experts and teacher reviewers.
• Develop effective partnerships and working relationships within and outside of the organization. Collaborate with colleagues in software product management, design, engineering, marketing, data, and others. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, to leadership, and with development teams.
• Maintain a deep understanding of what educators need in order to successfully implement CS and AI curricula. Understand teacher needs and realities, and the ways that reality is changing with the advent of AI.
• Actively represent Code.org values. Contribute to the Product and Engineering team and Code.org practices, rituals, and culture.

• 4+ years of experience designing and developing professional learning experiences and/or products (ideally CS and AI‑focused), including for use al candidates will have experience as a product manager in the ed‑tech/curriculum provider space as well as professional learning development experience.
• 2+ years of experience as a people manager, or equivalent experience acting as a regular mentor to members of a team or managing contractors.
