26-27 El Centro de la Raza After school Asst - Federal Way

This is an Ameri Corps/Washington Service Corps national service position. It is contingent on funding and open until filled. El Centro de la Raza serves Seattle's Latino community and other communities of color. We are building the Beloved Community through wrap around programming. We provide hands-on experiences in a multi-cultural and multi-lingual setting. Our Youth Services Programs follow students through their entire educational journey.

We offer case management, after school programs, and college and career counseling. In schools, we support teachers in ethnic studies implementation. We also provide workshops to support caregivers. The member will serve students Federal Way partner schools. They will design and lead activities to support students' academic and social development. They will also collaborate with staff in our partner schools. During the summer, members will support our summer academic enrichment programs.

We expect to begin rolling review of applications and interviews in late June. Monthly stipend amount: $2,380. Further help on this page can be found by clicking here.

Member Duties :
The After school Program Assistant will help us make sure every student receives the comprehensive and culturally sustaining support they need to achieve their goals. They will design and deliver after school lessons that support existing classroom content; collaborate with school staff on culturally sustaining education and ethnic studies content; tutor individual students; train volunteers and design activities for volunteers to lead;

design culturally relevant and linguistically appropriate outreach materials; monitor student progress and outcomes.
