Title: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor Without Tenure (WOT), Department of Pediatrics, Division of Emergency Medicine

Position Description

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine, Division of Emergency Medicine, in partnership with Seattle Children’s Hospital is seeking a full‑time provider to join our faculty.

The candidate will be a full‑time faculty member at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level without tenure by reason of funding (WOT), on the Clinician‑Scholar track, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Anticipated start date is Fall/Winter 2026.

Assistant Professors are eligible for multi‑year appointments that align with a 12‑month service period (July 1–June 30). Faculty with 12‑month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12‑month period (July‑June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.

Associate and full Professors hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12‑month service period (July 1–June 30). Faculty with 12‑month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12‑month period (July‑June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.

As a member of the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Division, the faculty member’s duties include: direct clinical activities as an attending physician, providing and supervising the care of patients at sites of care for Pediatric Emergency Services; participating in local, regional and national activities that promote clinical interests and develop career goals; assisting in faculty development efforts; and assisting the department in its development through committee memberships as requested.

The faculty member will be an active participant in medical student, resident, and fellow education programs and will work diligently to grow as a teacher and educator. Clinical responsibilities in the Emergency Department also include attending meetings to further divisional educational, EDI, and research efforts, and participating in interdisciplinary and departmental opportunities. Faculty opportunities and participation in committees and other administrative activities will be reviewed annually.

All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.

The base salary range for this position is:
Assistant Professors $17,517 – $26,276 per month ($210,204 – $315,312 annually), Associate Professors $19,858 – $29,788 per month ($238,296 – $357,456 annually), Professors $22,874 – $34,312 per month ($274,488 – $411,744 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University.

Compensation provided by CUMG may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

Other compensation may include incentive through the Children’s University Medical Group practice plan. Additional administrative responsibilities may be offered to a specific candidate with appropriate experience and qualifications, which may result in an administrative supplement (ADS).

Qualifications

Applicants must have an MD or DO (or foreign equivalent). Must be board‑certified or board‑eligible (or foreign equivalent) in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, and must be eligible for medical licensure in Washington State.

To be eligible for University sponsorship of an H‑1B visa, graduates of foreign (non‑U.S.) medical schools must have successfully completed all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
