Position: Digital Services Manager (PNW)

Philanthropy Northwest is the philanthropy network for Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington and Wyoming. We envision vibrant, healthy Northwest communities – each with its own unique history, culture and traditions – connected to the natural environment and facing the future with optimism. Founded in 1976, we partner with family funds, foundations and corporate giving programs through professional development, networking, research, publications, public policy work and consulting.

Our work includes three core programs:
1) The Learning Network, a regional community providing opportunities for emerging and established philanthropy leaders to connect, learn and grow;
2) The Giving Practice, a national consulting team bringing customized solutions, deep regional relationships and national expertise to support organizations navigating philanthropy’s changing landscape;
3) An incubation platform for innovative philanthropic projects, including:
Cascadia Foodshed Financing Project, Hmong Giving Circle, and Community Democracy Workshop.

THE JOB

As the lead technologist you'll support the CRM, digital, online marketing and web needs of the organization, ensuring maximum effectiveness and efficiency of online channels to achieve organizational objectives and revenue goals. Success in this role requires seeing the big picture, defining ambitious plans and goals based on user needs, building processes and systems to scale, and being able to translate technology to end users.

The Digital Services Manager is a full-time and permanent position. This position will report to the Director of Communications.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Manage Philanthropy Northwest’s Drupal and Salesforce platforms and integration.
  • Serve as the technical webmaster by providing day to day administration of the Philanthropy Northwest website and Salesforce platforms to ensure smooth and effective functionality. Resolve any technical issues promptly.
  • In partnership with Philanthropy Northwest’s Knowledge Manager, continually enhance the platform to meet our ever‑changing needs and maintain relevancy by integrating updates via the United Philanthropy Forum Drupal and Salesforce Project (DSP).
  • Participate in the Forum’s user group and DSP super‑user community to partner on updates and leverage their expertise.
Track new technology developments and manage existing technologies.
  • Stay abreast of new technologies to maintain an enterprise wide technological edge and adoption of new tools and practices in communications, data management and user experience.
  • Partner across enterprise departments (membership, consulting and learning network teams) to ensure all needs are met via technological solutions.
  • Stay up to date on relevant trends and best practices in digital and data management so new opportunities can be identified. Research and recommend technology options for emerging needs, e.g. remote access to programs, online registrations, etc.
  • Partner with the Office Manager on technology needs for office infrastructure as they arise.
Ensure data is relevant and being integrated into the enterprise.
  • Partner with the Knowledge Manager to ensure the right data is being captured and is being used to inform programs, member services, client engagements, etc.
