Empower students to reach their full potential by supporting children with hearing loss in an educational setting located just outside Seattle, WA. This contract opportunity is ideal for passionate educators committed to fostering accessible learning environments and making a lasting difference in the lives of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing or eligibility to obtain.
  • Experience working with children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in school settings.
  • Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and/or proficiency in other relevant communication modalities.
  • Strong collaboration, advocacy, and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs.
  • Commitment to supporting inclusive and equitable education.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver tailored instructional services and curriculum modifications for students with hearing loss.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Utilize audio-visual technology and assistive listening devices to enhance access and participation.
  • Partner with families, classroom teachers, and support staff to track student progress and share strategies.
  • Advocate for necessary classroom accommodations and promote awareness among peers and faculty.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in Deaf education.
