Job Summary
Alpha School, a rapidly growing learning rebellion, is seeking a Performance Coach to lead student cohorts and guide local coaches across multiple in‑person locations. The role is a full‑time (40 hrs/week) independent contractor position with an annual compensation of $200,000 (paid weekly).
Students at Alpha do not attend traditional lectures; they advance through adaptive applications at double the speed of conventional classrooms, developing practical life competencies. Your responsibilities center on ensuring three commitments: students enjoy school, accelerate learning at 2x speed, and acquire genuine life skills. You will also coach Guides who deliver these outcomes across the campus.

- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage from day one.
- Facilitate one‑hour live workshops on life skills and SEL for K‑8 students using Alpha’s playbook.
- Conduct daily motivational sessions ensuring 100 % of students reach weekly application goals through age‑suitable incentives.
- Develop and coach Guides via observation, feedback, and direct coaching so they execute workshops with equivalent energy and accuracy.
- Analyze Coachbot data and student profiles to identify students requiring intervention and provide personal support.
- Mentor your assigned student cohort, demonstrating coaching and motivational approaches expected of every Guide.
- Creating lesson plans or developing curriculum.
- Delivering traditional classroom lectures.
- Compromising standards due to pressure from parents or administrators.
- Spending time in an office processing administrative documents.
- Waiting weeks for performance feedback.

Basic Requirements- Current residence or willingness to relocate to one of the listed locations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in education, learning and development, coaching, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing educational programs, curricula, or training initiatives.
- Proven history managing a team of 5 or more individuals, including hiring and performance‑based termination decisions.
- Experience providing coaching, mentoring, or constructive feedback to enhance engagement and performance.
- Experience working with children ages 5–14 in an educational or developmental context.
- Strong ability to leverage data and metrics for decision‑making and continuous improvement.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Master’s degree in Education, Psychology, or Business.
- Experience as an athletic coach, camp director, or youth program leader directly motivating children to achieve measurable goals.
- Background coaching adults in performance‑monitored positions.
- Confidence performing before large groups of children (commanding presence).

Working with UsThis is a full‑time (40 hours per week) contractor position. Compensation is $100 USD per hour (equivalent to $200,000 USD per year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year). The payment period is weekly. The contractor status requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with the hiring organization.
