St. Therese Catholic Academy (STCA) seeks a full-time or part-time Preschool Assistant teacher for the 2026-27 school year. The preschool teacher will be responsible for assisting with teaching preschool grade content. Specific assignments for additional time will be determined based on school needs and candidates' strengths, such as summer preschool programming.
School OverviewSTCA is a Preschool-8th grade Catholic elementary school in the heart of the Madrona neighborhood of Seattle, just 2 miles east of downtown. St. Therese is a welcoming, diverse, and faith-filled community that has been igniting the faith, minds, and dreams of our students since 1927. The school currently serves 150 students ages 3-14, 35% of whom receive free/reduced lunch. Our families commute from over 32 zip codes to be a part of our community, and over 60% of our families receive tuition assistance.
Our staff (the Dream Team) has about 25 team members and is expanding along with our enrollment.
The early Ed consists of preschool and Pre‑K students ages 3-5 years old, one Lead teacher and potentially 2 assistants. Through stories and play we begin to develop our little scholars love of Math, Reading, and most of all, Jesus. Opportunities for collaboration, joint planning through the PLC process, and implementing creative new ideas exist and are welcome.
Candidate ProfileApplicants should be mission-driven, highly motivated, dedicated, and creative individuals who are interested in working with students and families from all backgrounds in a diverse, Catholic setting. The ideal candidate will bring passion, energy, faith, and a strong work ethic and enjoy partnering with colleagues and parents. The candidate must also desire to help students of varying ability levels succeed. We expect all team members to lead by example.
Qualifications- Bachelor Degree in Education of similar field (Master's preferred)
- Understanding and genuine appreciation of children
- Desire to work in a racially and economically diverse, faith-centered community
- Enhancing Quality of Early Learning (EQEL year 1 and
2) - WA State ECE Initial Certificate (12 credits) or equivalent
- Timeline from Date of Hire or Promotion: 5 years
Salary: $37,000-$47,000. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
