Open Rank Faculty Position Without Tenure (WOT), Department of Pediatrics, Center for Immunity and Immunotherapies

The Division of Rheumatology, of the Department of Pediatrics, University of Washington School of Medicine and Seattle Children's Hospital is seeking candidates for a full time position at the level of Assistant Professor (without tenure by reason of funding), Associate Professor (without tenure by reason of funding), or full Professor (without tenure by reason of funding) on the Faculty-Scientist track. Rank is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Assistant Professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Associate and Full Professors WOT hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.

Anticipated start date is Summer 2022.

The successful candidate will spend 75% time in the research setting, and 25% of time in administrative and clinical pursuit. Research faculty will be a member of a Seattle Children's Research Institute (SCRI) Center, and conduct research within an SCRI Facility.

The faculty member will engage in pediatric rheumatology clinical care in the outpatient and inpatient settings, including immunosuppressive medication management and intraarticular aspirations/injections.

The Division of Pediatric Rheumatology at Seattle Children's Hospital and Research Institute and the University of Washington, is world-renowned as one of the oldest programs in the world and is the largest in the United States – with 13 physicians and 5 nurses that serve the states of Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Idaho and Montana. Our diverse population of patients come primarily from these states and represents a wide range of ethnicities and backgrounds as well as unique and rare diseases.

The Division has an active research program at the University of Washington and Seattle Children's Research Institute with a focus on autoimmune diseases, and collaborates closely with the Benaroya Research Institute, the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, and the Seattle area biotech industry. In addition to investigator-initiated studies, the division is actively involved in the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance (CARRA) projects, is a member of Pediatric Rheumatology Collaborative Research Group (PRCSG) and participates in pharmaceutical clinical trials.

Seattle Children's has recently become the Coordinating Center for the Pediatric Rheumatology Care and Outcomes Improvement Network (PR-COIN).

The division has an outstanding fellowship training program which has been supported by an NIH T32 for decades.

University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.

The base salary range for this position will be:
Assistant Professors MD $11,500 - $17,167 per month ($138,000 - $206,004 annually), Associate Professors MD $13,417 - $20,084 per month ($161,004 - $241,008 annually), Professors MD $16,500 - $24,834 per month ($198,000 - $298,008 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Children's University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University.

Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by Children's University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through Children's University Medical Group practice plan. Additional administrative responsibilities may be offered to a specific candidate with appropriate experience and qualifications which may result in an administrative supplement (ADS).
