Faculty Position

Seattle Pacific University seeks faculty candidates who are equally oriented to the liberal arts approach to education and to the applications of such an education in the world of work. Candidates should be abreast of developments in their fields and prepared to teach non-traditional groups of students and use alternative delivery systems, including new educational technologies. They should also enjoy the prospect of meeting with students to discuss their educational goals and participate in the planning of a program of studies suited to the needs of the individual student.

Job Description

The School of Psychology, Family, and Community at Seattle Pacific University offers faith integrated academic programs in Clinical Psychology (PhD), Industrial and Organizational Psychology (MA and PhD), Marriage and Family Therapy (MS), Psychology (BA/BS/MS), and Medical Family Therapy (Professional/post-graduate). All programs emphasize the integration of practice, theory, research, and professional preparation for psychology-relevant careers in clinical and organizational contexts.

The doctoral program for Clinical Psychology offers opportunities for adjunct instructors. Courses vary by topic and academic term, and application review occurs continuously as needs arise. If you are interested in specific areas of teaching and/or courses, please include this information in your cover letter.

Requirements:

  • Master's or doctoral degree in area of discipline.
  • A personal commitment to Christian faith, enthusiasm about supporting SPU's mission, alignment with the University's Statement of Faith, and willingness to accept the lifestyle standards of the Christian community.
