Auxiliary Instructor, AI Building Brains with Deep Learning
Circuit Stream is a leader in future technology skills training and learning content. We offer world-class educational services for teen and adult learners with a focus on the skills needed to leverage immersive and emerging technology. We are seeking a passionate Software Engineer or Machine Learning Developer with a deep understanding of AI and machine learning to join our instructor roster for our AI Building Brains with Deep Learning course for learners aged 13–18.
Students learn the foundational concepts of building an image recognition program using Python and its available libraries. This is an auxiliary (substitute) instructor opportunity for Summer 2026. As part of our instructor roster, you'll be one of our trusted educators who can step in when needed to support our students. If our lead instructor is unavailable due to planned or unexpected leave, you'll confidently deliver our curriculum and ensure students continue to receive the exceptional learning experience Circuit Stream is known for.
The ideal instructor candidate should possess a strong foundation in Python, the different libraries available within Python, Google Colab, deep learning concepts, machine learning algorithms, as well as previous teaching, TA, or training experience.
AI Building Brains with Deep Learning is offered at the University of Washington Seattle campus (Poplar Hall classroom). Auxiliary Instructors should be available to teach from 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM PT between July 13–24, 2026, if called upon, and attend 1–2 training days in July prior to stepping into the classroom.
Responsibilities- Create lesson plans and lead engaging and comprehensive classroom sessions with teen learners following Circuit Stream's AI Building Brains with Deep Learning course curriculum (curriculum and instructor guides provided).
- Provide constructive feedback, guidance, and mentorship to students as they ideate, develop, and iterate on their final project: an image recognition program using Python and available libraries.
- Showcase proficiency in Python and Deep Learning algorithms.
- Share real-world experiences, case studies, and insights to offer students a holistic understanding of the field.
- Grade and provide feedback on assignments and final projects that accurately measure student understanding and progress within the course.
- Availability to teach during the day (9:00 AM – 3:30 PM PT) between July 13–24, 2026, if called upon.
- Availability to attend 1–2 training days in July prior to teaching.
- Previous industry experience in Software Engineering or AI, Machine Learning, or Deep Learning.
- Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field OR current Master of Science (M.Sc.) student in Computer Science.
- Proficiency in Python, Deep Learning algorithms such as CNNs, and Google Colab.
- Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible and engaging manner.
- Innate logical thinking and the ability to inspire and nurture logical thinking in students.
- A passion for guiding and mentoring students, fostering their growth, and providing meaningful feedback.
- Willingness to adapt to evolving curriculum needs, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
- A collaborative attitude, eager to contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
- A proactive attitude towards ongoing professional development and a willingness to stay up to date with industry advancements.
- A strong portfolio of relevant work showcasing your skills and experience.
- Previous experience teaching coding to kids or teens, or experience as a Teaching Assistant for university or college-level courses.
