Seattle Pacific University is a Christian university fully committed to engaging the culture and changing the world by graduating people of competence and character, becoming people of wisdom, and modeling grace-filled community.
The Chemistry and Biochemistry Program (CBP) is a member of the Division of Natural Sciences of the College of Applied and Natural Sciences (CANS) at Seattle Pacific University (SPU).
Division of Natural Sciences Mission Statement:
Promoting scientific learning as a way of understanding Creation.
The CBP offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and a minor in Chemistry. The CBP mission and values include developing students to be ethical practitioners of science who uphold deep integrity in academics, experimental design, and data interpretation. The program prepares students to better understand the world around them and find their place in upholding meaningful relationships between themselves, their work, and nature.
We typically have openings for adjunct chemistry faculty in laboratory sections of General Chemistry (CHM 1211L, CHM 1212L), Survey of General Chemistry (CHM 1310L), Survey of Organic Chemistry (CHM 1330L), and Survey of Biochemistry (CHM 1360L). Teaching in these courses would provide an opportunity to work closely with other SPU faculty, with the intention of promoting scientific integrity and excellent work ethic throughout the laboratory experiment experiences for students in the 1000-level chemistry lab curriculum.
