Madrona Elementary School is seeking a Dual Language (Spanish) Kindergarten Teacher to join our team of educators for the upcoming 2026‑2027 school year.
SUMMARYDual Language Teachers work in a 50:50 dual language program model. Students are immersed in the partner language (Spanish, Vietnamese, etc.) for 50% of the day and English for the other 50%. At the elementary grade level, this can be both a two‑classroom model or a single classroom model. At the secondary grade level, the teacher for this position uses a specific partner language (Spanish, Vietnamese, etc.)
for at least one period a day. The teacher helps students learn skills and develop attitudes and appreciations that lead toward the district's goals of education.
- Current Washington State Teacher’s certificate with appropriate subject‑area endorsement(s) and native or native‑like proficiency in oral and academic world language (Spanish) and English.
- Pass ACTFL language proficiency test in the specified world language with Advanced Low or higher score.
- Criminal background clearance.
- All required certificates, licenses, endorsements, permits, and vaccines (unless exempt).
