Position DescriptionThe Department of Radiology at the University of Washington is recruiting one full‑time (100% FTE) faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (without tenure) by reason of funding. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2026.
Faculty in this track are eligible for multi‑year appointments aligned with a 12‑month service period (July 1‑June 30). They receive pay for 11 months of service over a 12‑month period, with one month available for paid time off. WOT faculty members are in a non‑tenure track because all or part of their annual University‑administered salary is derived from sources other than regularly appropriated state funds.
Except for this distinction, they have the same rights, responsibilities, and obligations as tenure‑track faculty at those ranks.
Mission: improve public health using research‑driven, imaging‑based care with compassion, expertise and inclusiveness. Vision: advance healthcare through collaborative and diverse teams that lead discovery and educate future radiology leaders.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will contribute to the Department of Radiology mission and develop and maintain an independent funded research program in imaging of diseases, utilizing magnetic resonance imaging methods and analysis. Ideally, the program will include collaborators from Radiology, Neurosurgery, Vascular Surgery, and Mechanical Engineering and be based at Harborview Medical Center to expand the imaging research program. The position also requires support of teaching, research, and administrative missions in the Imaging Research Laboratory, the Department of Radiology, and the UW School of Medicine.
All faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.
Salary: $8,750–$13,334 per month ($105,000–$160,008 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
Qualifications- PhD (or foreign equivalent) in basic or clinical science, imaging physics and/or engineering, computer science and informatics, or a related field.
- Minimum five years of relevant experience post terminal degree, including at least two years of postdoctoral training.
