SALARY: $25.00+ DOE. Non-Exempt/Hourly
OverviewThe Lead Early Education Teacher at Bayview’s Intergenerational Childcare Center (ICC) is part of a unique, nonprofit program within a continuing care retirement community. This role leads classroom operations, guiding teaching staff while creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for children. Our intergenerational model offers one-of-a-kind learning experiences, where children build empathy and social skills through shared activities like art, gardening, and storytelling with residents.
Responsibilities• Lead and coordinate daily classroom operations, ensuring a safe, orderly, and stimulating environment.
• Supervise and support teaching staff, providing guidance and training.
• Design and implement curriculum that reflects early childhood best practices and the center’s mission.
• Monitor safety and compliance with ICC and Bayview policies, licensing regulations, and health/safety standards.
• Communicate with families to provide updates on children’s progress and development.
• Maintain orderly and clean facility and instructional materials.
• Participate in meetings and collaborate with staff, families, and residents to enhance intergenerational learning experiences.
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
- Associate of Arts Degree, Child Development Associate Degree, or equivalent; willing to pursue further education.
- At least two years of experience working with children under five.
- Meets or exceeds licensing requirements for CPR, HIV/AIDS, First Aid, Food Handlers Permit.
- Minimum age 18.
- Confidential handling of parent/child information.
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, flexibility, and patience skills.
- Positive, team‑oriented attitude and ability to lead within established guidelines.
