Special Education Teacher

Looking to begin a fulfilling new chapter in your career? We're hiring a motivated Special Education Teacher for the current school year. As a Special Education Teacher, you will support students with diverse learning needs by delivering individualized instruction and accommodations that promote access to the general education curriculum. You will manage IEPs from development through implementation, using ongoing data collection to support meaningful progress toward student goals.

Working alongside teachers, specialists, administrators, and families, you will help ensure consistency across learning environments. By applying differentiated instruction and evidence-based practices, you will contribute to a classroom culture that encourages independence, confidence, and academic growth.

Position Highlights:

• Monitor student progress through data collection and analysis.
• Maintain accurate service documentation and progress reports.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, evaluations, and planning.
• Provide individualized and small-group instruction aligned with student goals.
• Develop and manage IEPs in compliance with federal and state requirements.
• Collaborate with general education staff to support inclusive learning settings.

Requirements:

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Completion of an approved Special Education teacher preparation program.
• Working knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and collaborative instructional practices.
• Passing scores on required Washington endorsement exams (e.g., WEST-E or approved equivalent).
• Candidates eligible for a conditional certificate or pre-endorsement authorization may be considered.
• Valid Washington State teaching certificate with a Special Education endorsement (P–12) issued by OSPI, or eligibility to obtain.
