City University of Seattle's School of Education and Leadership is seeking qualified part-time Teaching Faculty and subject matter experts to support our Teacher Certification Program. The program prepares preservice teachers, as well as some in-service educators, at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
We are particularly interested in educators with recent P-12 practitioner experience and demonstrated expertise in culturally sustaining, identity-affirming, and inclusive educational practices. Candidates with experience working with diverse student populations?including multilingual learners, immigrant and first-generation students, students with disabilities and neurodivergent students, para educators, and historically underserved communities?are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities- Delivering high-quality instruction that supports teacher candidate learning and professional growth.
- Modeling culturally sustaining, identity-affirming, inclusive, and equitable practices in interactions with students and colleagues.
- Providing meaningful, timely feedback that supports teacher candidates in meeting Washington State teacher certification requirements.
- Maintaining current knowledge and expertise in their professional field.
- Supporting a positive and engaging learning environment across online, hybrid, and/or in-person instructional settings.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
- Minimum of four years of teaching experience in a P-12 classroom environment.
- Demonstrated subject matter expertise in one or more of the areas listed above.
- Experience working with diverse P-12 student populations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Zoom, and the ability to learn and use online learning management systems and other instructional technologies.
- Ability to provide effective instruction and meaningful feedback to adult learners.
- Valid Washington State Teacher or Administrator Certificate.
- Recent P-12 practitioner experience, preferably within the last five years.
- Graduate degree in education or a related field.
- Experience serving diverse student populations, including multilingual learners, immigrant and first-generation students, students with disabilities or who are neurodivergent, para educators, and historically underserved communities.
- Teaching and/or leadership experience across multiple roles, grade levels, and subject areas.
- Experience providing instruction, professional development, and evaluative feedback to adult learners, particularly educators, in online, hybrid, and/or in-person environments.
