multiple (in-person at partner school sites – North Seattle and West Seattle)
Schedule:
Weekday afternoons 9/30-12/11
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $55 hourly
Program Type:
After-school enrichment / music education
- Teach small-group after-school strings classes (violin, viola, cello)
- Deliver structured, age-appropriate music lessons
- Teach fundamentals: posture, tone, rhythm, and ensemble skills
- Create a positive and well-managed classroom environment
- Track attendance and basic student progress
- Prepare students for an end-of-class “informance”
- Private strings teachers seeking additional students/hours
- Orchestra or band educators
- Music performance or music education majors
- Professional string players who enjoy teaching kids
- Suzuki or traditional pedagogy teachers
- Ability to teach all 3 instruments – violin, viola, or cello
- Experience teaching or working with children
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Dependable transportation to Shoreline sites
- Ability to pass background check
- Music degree or current music student
- School, youth orchestra, or camp teaching experience
- Suzuki or strings pedagogy training
- Multi-instrument strings ability
- Teaching credential (not required)
- Classes run in 10-week sessions
- Typical teaching window: 2:30–5:30 pm
- Teach 1–5 days per week based on availability
