Job Description
Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting elementary and middle school students in a vibrant Connecticut school community. This contract position is an excellent opportunity to further your experience while providing essential educational support. The assignment runs from September 15, 2026 to October 27, 2026, covering a current leave and offering a full-time schedule of 35 hours per week.
Qualifications:- Valid Connecticut Special Education Teacher License
- All required CT certifications for special education
- Previous experience in special education classrooms is highly preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Excellent organizational skills and creative problem-solving mindset
- Passion for empowering diverse learners
- Deliver individualized and group instruction per IEPs in a supportive and structured setting
- Assess students’ needs and progress, adapting lessons to ensure comprehension and participation
- Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and other staff to provide the best student outcomes
- Maintain accurate records and complete timely documentation as required by Board of Education guidelines
- Employ positive behavior management strategies
- Foster an inclusive, respectful, and safe learning environment onsite
This contract role allows you to sharpen your special education expertise in a dynamic school setting, working closely with colleagues dedicated to student growth. The position is based onsite, engaging directly with students and staff.
