Classroom Facilitator

Dragon’s Den School-Age Program is dedicated to fostering an environment where children feel loved, respected, and valued. Our philosophy emphasizes honoring the dignity and uniqueness of each child, staff member, and family. We believe in the importance of childhood as a distinct and cherished phase of development. Our program is designed to support children's social, emotional, and physical growth in a safe and nurturing environment.

Dragon’s Den School Age Program is seeking a part-time, experienced, Classroom Facilitator. Under supervision of the Program Supervisor, the Classroom Facilitator collaborates with the Lead Classroom Facilitator to help coordinate day-to- day activities and lessons at the after school classroom for our incoming Kindergarten class. We have two classrooms and are expanding into a third classroom this fall. Dragon's Den serves grades K-5th and strives for excellence by intentionally integrating high quality, child-centered, anti-bias curriculum, Dragon's Den also proudly participates in the Undoing Institutionalized Racism movement in Seattle.

This position is typically 3 hours a day for part-time (during breaks full-time is required) and 6-8 hours a day with benefits for full-time. The facilitator will ensure that the mission and vision of Dragon’s Den is consistently reflected in the daily activities, as well as in how they model their body language, attitude, and enthusiasm for a peaceful, engaging, exciting environment within the classroom.

Our ideal candidate is passionate, has a positive attitude when working with children and a team of staff, displays excellent verbal & non-verbal communication skills, is very dependable and timely, flexible, patient, detailed, and can successfully manage nurturing developmental opportunities for children. We are seeking a facilitator that provides engaged learning opportunities with children and is committed to a sustainable community.

Other responsibilities of the Classroom Facilitator pertain to timely regulation of the classroom, assistance in helping regulate systems to see the classroom stays clean with inviting environments, and collaborating with their team to ensure that Dragon’s Den is an environment where children feel safe, nurtured, and empowered to play and learn.

• 21 Years or older
• AA Degree preferred in Early Childhood Education
• 3 or more years of experience working with young children and their families
• Current state approved first-aid and CPR certification
• Negative TB Test
• STARS Child Care Basics (30 Hours)
• Current Child Abuse and Neglect Mandated Reporter Training
• Current Food Handlers Card
• Ability to lift at least 35 pounds
• Be able to walk, squat/kneel, and sit on floor
• Excellent hearing and vision
• Merit account with DEL and maintain at least 10 training hours per year
• Complete Agency Orientation

• Prep, and clean up of Dragon’s Den classroom daily
• Assisting the lead facilitator in organization of classroom materials
• Facilitate, mentor, and supervise students both outside at playgrounds and in the classroom
• Cleaning up of classroom including, putting chairs away, wiping countertops, vacuuming, and resetting the classroom for the next day
• Auditing of incoming food orders and working with our admin to ensure foods are accounted for and not going to waste weekly
• Foster an atmosphere of positive communication and partnership with families, staff, and facility personnel
• Follow individual learning plans for children
• Support center values of social justice and anti-bias curriculum
• Assist teaching teams as needed

Full-time or Part time. If full time, hours will be negotiated according to need with our preschool site.
