Position

Description:

Laboratory Learning Coordination;
Human Performance Lab and Mobile Lab (50%)
  • Maintain, update, and produce laboratory operating policies and procedures reflecting industry standards and best practices
  • Ensure that laboratory facilities and users are compliant with requisite operational policies and procedures (including, but not limited to health and safety regulations/guidelines for employees, students, and research participants; and ethics and human subjects research rules)
  • Maintain operating knowledge and quality assurance/control in Kinesiology laboratory equipment, devices, and tools (i.e., Vicon Motion Capture, K4B2, Parvo Medics Tru One, Xsens, Force Plates, Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis, Gymaware, EMG, Ultrasound) utilized for teaching, learning, and research (including collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data)
  • Responsible for installation, maintenance, repair, management, and troubleshooting of equipment and computing software and hardware for laboratory equipment
  • Serve as resource for operation of laboratory facilities related to instructional/course needs
  • Responsible for hiring, onboarding, and supervising students employed for duties/responsibilities associated with the department's laboratory facilities
  • Organize and lead activities that facilitate collaborative research among and between Kinesiology students and faculty, internal and external stakeholders
Program Operations (25%)
  • Liaise with faculty and staff responsible for college- and university-level operations, especially the College's Deans' Office, Office of the Registrar and Office of Admissions, to facilitate success of academic programs and ensure department administrators, faculty, and staff are informed of current, updated academic programs related information, policies, and procedures
  • Support the coordination of undergraduate internship processes and activities in collaboration with the Internship Coordinator, faculty, students, and external partners, including assisting with the development and maintenance of relationships with internship sites and community partners.
  • Execute (routine and ad hoc) processes and procedures for course catalog building and modifications, in collaboration with department and college administrators/faculty
  • Manages class schedule building processes, working closely with department and college administrators and staff (as relevant); including collaborating with faculty to arrange and revise course scheduling
  • Assist department and college administrators with developing and implementing program review and improvement initiatives, including program assessment, evaluation, and strategic planning
  • Assist in organizing and executing department faculty and staff retreat(s) and meetings; assist with college retreat
  • Onboard and orient new and adjunct faculty in collaboration with college-level staff and administrators (as relevant)
  • Manages faculty and staff professional development requests and reimbursements
  • Assists in development of yearly departmental budgets and producing financial reports and summaries
Student Recruitment and Success (20%)
  • Coordinate and staff student recruitment and orientation events and activities (including occasionally outside of business hours) in coordination with college and university programming/initiatives
