On‑Call Substitute Teachers

Under general supervision, and on a part‑time temporary basis, teaches courses as needed in any of the following disciplines:
English, Math, History, Science, Languages (Chinese, French, and/or Spanish), Fine Arts, and Physical Education.

• Provides classroom instruction and management
• Collaborates with colleagues, students, parents, and administrators as appropriate
• Is familiar with and complies with all policies and regulations as put forth in the school’s documents
• Since safety and security are everyone’s responsibility, takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, faculty, staff, equipment, materials and facilities
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university in one of the disciplines listed above required
• Master’s degree preferred
• 2+ years’ teaching experience in a related field required
• 5+ years’ teaching experience preferred

• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the students and program
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidential information
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusivity
• Ability to work efficiently in a Microsoft Windows or Mac environment using Office, master common automated systems for record keeping, and learn new technology
• Comfortable with operating Audio/Visual equipment
• Ability to work and communicate well with all levels of faculty and staff
• Ability to work and communicate well with students and their parents

Rate of Pay: $105 for 3.5 hours (half day) or $210 for 7 hours (full day). Since this position is part‑time and temporary, only mandated benefits are offered. Qualified substitutes will be added to a database of professionals that are contacted and paid directly by the school.
