American Indian Studies Program Lecturer

The American Indian Studies Program is accepting applications to fill current and future full-time, part-time, quarterly, and annual appointment lecturer positions to teach classes in the courses/subject areas listed below. This list is not all inclusive: other courses/subject areas may become available within the program. Minimum Qualifications:

Master's Degree in American Indian/Native American Studies, Anthropology, History or related field. Appropriate teaching experience for the course(s) needed. OR applicable combination of education and/or experience which demonstrate the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ph.D. in American Indian/Native American Studies, Anthropology, History or related field. Successful teaching experience at a comprehensive university or community college. Experience teaching multiple courses listed in Job Summary above. 3+ years working with Indigenous communities Knowledge of and connection to Indigenous communities in the Pacific Northwest Don't meet every single requirement? Pay:
Based on the terms and conditions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The minimum remuneration for the non-tenure-track titles for the  academic year will be as follows: (a) Lecturer: $1,224 per workload unit for faculty with terminal degrees; $979 per workload unit for faculty without terminal degrees. (b) Senior Lecturer: $1,346 per workload unit for faculty with terminal degrees; $1,075 per workload unit for faculty without terminal degrees.

Effective September 1, 2026, The minimum remuneration for the non-tenure-track titles for the  academic year will be as follows: (a) Lecturer: $1,248 per workload unit for faculty with terminal degrees; $999 per workload unit for faculty without terminal degrees. (b) Senior Lecturer: $1,373 per workload unit for faculty with terminal degrees; $1,097 per workload unit for faculty without terminal degrees.

This announcement will be used to develop a pool of applicants for positions in the department of American Indian Studies Program through March 2027. There is a possibility that selected applicants may be called on short notice to fill lecturer vacancies on a quarter-by-quarter basis. Screening of applications begins immediately and will continue as needed. The number of lecturer positions filled varies from quarter to quarter, depending upon the needs of the department.

Positions typically start at the beginning of an academic quarter. Your application will be maintained in this pool for consideration through March 2027.
