Extended Day Program Assistant Manager

Position Description
Epiphany School is seeking an Extended Day Program Assistant Manager who will work alongside the Extended Day Program Manager to provide play-based programming that fosters our students’ social, physical, and emotional growth in a healthy, safe, inclusive environment. Our program offers before and after school care, full-day camps during academic breaks (including summer camps), and extracurricular clubs that are engaging and build upon student’s learning in the classroom.

They will have previous experience teaching elementary aged children and managing programs. This is a part-time (0.75 FTE), non-exempt, year-round, blended teacher and administrative position, reporting to the Extended Day Manager, expected to work an average of 30 hours per week. Regular work hours are Monday – Friday 12:00pm – 6:00pm.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities

• Foster a nurturing and engaging environment for all students, upholding the school’s mission and educational principles.
• Assist the Extended Day Manager in overseeing daily operations of all areas of the Extended Day program, including morning and after-school care, summer camp and academic break sessions, student clubs, and other program duties as assigned.
• Oversee daily program attendance, managing any changes and ensuring families and staff are kept informed.
• Provide support to the Extended Day team by covering breaks, addressing staffing needs, and responding to assistance requests as required (including subbing in for Extended Day teachers during unplanned absences if all other resources are exhausted).
• Support the Extended Day Manager in hiring, onboarding and offboarding team members; ensure new hires are set up for success and departing colleagues are recognized for their contributions and wished well in their next chapter.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date student attendance records to ensure compliance with DCYF regulations and emergency preparedness protocols.
• Build and maintain a positive rapport with students, families, and colleagues, stepping in to provide support with family communications as necessary and connecting with diverse stakeholders to support the ongoing success of the program and the school’s reputation.
• Support with drafting program forms, descriptions, and program standard operating procedures as directed by the Extended Day Manager, ensuring the team is clear on expectations and processes.
• Collaborate with the planning and organization of special events for Extended Day, helping to create memorable experiences for students.
• Assist in the strategic planning, development and implementation of various programs and initiatives.
• Elevate issues to the Extended Day Manager to collaboratively solve problems and/or elevate to appropriate school leadership, providing recommendations.
• Assist with on-going protocols to assure DCYF licensing requirements are consistently followed to provide a safe and healthy environment for students (i.e., includes kitchen and classroom upkeep and managing nutritious snack inventory)
• Organize and maintain Extended Day supplies and equipment, ensuring resources are well-tracked and accessible to support students and staff.
