St. Therese Catholic Academy (STCA) seeks a long term sub Elementary 3rd Grade teacher for the remainder 2025-26 school year, with the anticipation of job renewal upon mutual agreement. This is a self‑contained role as part of our primary team but will be responsible for all Elementary Level Grade content. Specific assignments for additional time will be determined based on school needs and candidates' strengths.

STCA is a Preschool‑8th grade Catholic elementary school in the heart of the Madrona neighborhood of Seattle, just 2 miles east of downtown. The school currently serves 150 students ages 3‑14, 35% of whom receive free/reduced lunch. Over 60% of families receive tuition assistance, and families commute from 34 zip codes.

• Teach all Elementary Level Grade content (math, literacy, language arts & writing, science, social studies, and religion) for 3rd grade.
• Collaborate with other homeroom teachers in the PLC process to plan lessons and share best practices.
• Support students of varying ability levels and foster a faith‑centered learning environment.
• Engage parents and families from diverse backgrounds.
• Utilize educational technology in the classroom.
• Provide instruction in a self‑contained setting as part of the primary team.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Understanding and genuine appreciation of children.
• Desire to work in a racially and economically diverse, faith‑centered community.
• Ability to utilize educational technology in the classroom.
• Preferred:
  Active Catholic.
• Current Washington (or out‑of‑state) teaching certificate (or ability to obtain one) with a K‑5 (minimum) endorsement.
