Seattle Central College is looking to hire a Front Desk Assistant in the Learning Support Network.
Hourly Range for this position is $21.51 to $26.59/hr

Position SummaryUnder direction of Learning Support Network staff, the Front Desk Assistant will be responsible for administering the front desk functions of the Learning Centers within the Learning Support Network (LSN), ensuring student success by facilitating access to tutoring services. As front line staff, the incumbent is expected to provide students and staff with timely and accurate information regarding the LSN services, assist in promoting tutoring services, execute basic administrative tasks, and provide a warm, welcoming environment for all.
This position is part of the Libraries, Learning Support and Employee Development division, and is committed to student-centered, equity-producing, antiracist, and accessible tutoring services.
This position is part-time, working up to 16 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, primarily in person, between the hours of 10am-7pm.
This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by WFSE and is subject to union shop provisions

What you will be working on:- Create a warm, welcoming, inclusive front desk environment for students, staff and guests
- Greet, provide information, and answer general questions regarding the LSN and tutoring policies and procedures
- Distribute marketing materials and help promote LSN services to students, faculty, and staff
- Help students and staff navigate the tutoring webpages, Starfish database, Canvas course, eTutoring service, Zoom, as well as other electronic resources
- Assist students with making appointments, checking in for sessions and connecting with tutors
- Act as Calendar Managers within Starfish; track student appointments within Starfish; record outcomes within Starfish
- Track attendance, absences and tardies of tutors
- Actively manage the LSN Zoom Pro Account for remote tutoring
- Trouble-shoot and problem solve inquiries, challenging situations and/or complaints, with the attempt to resolve; elevate to supervisor if needed
- Make referrals to other student support resources, departments
- Participate in meetings, trainings
- Take meeting minutes, if needed
- Assist in cleaning and tidying the Centers
- Perform other duties as required
- One year experience or equivalent in front-facing, customer service role
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to interact with others in a positive, constructive, professional manner
- Ability and/or experience working with diverse populations
- Ability to work independently with general training/supervision and as part of a dynamic team
- Demonstrated experience with attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-pace work environment
- Ability to/experience with learning technology tools; familiarity with MS Office, Zoom, Canvas, MS Teams
