** Orientation and Mobility Specialist | Seattle WA | 2026–2027 School Year Ampersand Therapy is hiring an itinerant Orientation and Mobility (O&M) Specialist for the 2026–2027 school year in the Seattle WA area. We are a women- and therapist-founded company focused on providing meaningful support to school-based professionals and the students they serve.

August 27, 2026–June 19, 2027
* Grade Levels:

Responsibilities:
* Evaluate students’ orientation and mobility needs in school and community environments
* Provide individualized instruction in safe and independent travel skills
* Teach skills involving spatial awareness, sensory efficiency, route planning, and cane use
* Develop, implement, and monitor orientation and mobility goals within students’ IEPs
* Recommend environmental modifications and mobility supports
* Collaborate with Teachers of the Visually Impaired, families, educators, and related service providers
* Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary evaluations
* Maintain accurate documentation and monitor student progress
* Travel between assigned schools and instructional environments as needed

Qualifications:

* Current Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist credential or applicable state authorization
* Bachelor’s or master’s degree in orientation and mobility, visual impairments, or a related field
* Experience working with students across multiple grade levels preferred
* Strong communication, collaboration, and time-management skills
* Ability to travel between school sites and provide instruction in varied environments
