Job Description Summary The Admissions Evaluator – International Credential Evaluations carefully evaluates international transcripts for GPA calculations, transferable credit and major prerequisites. The Evaluator serves as a Designated School Official (DSO) and issues I-20's for international students to be able to apply for visas. As the subject matter expert in international evaluations, the Evaluator also plays a key role in functions related to admissions operations for all undergraduate applicants as part of a team of Admissions Evaluators, which includes evaluating transcripts and calculating GPA’s for domestic students, and maintaining data and applicant/record cleanliness.

Description:
International (60%) Serves as the subject matter expert for evaluating secondary and post-secondary international credentials for incoming students. This includes calculating GPAs according to grading scales from other countries, determining course equivalencies from post-secondary institutions outside the United States, and applying applicants’ previous coursework towards Seattle University’s degree requirements. Regularly reviews other components of international applications, including auditing for fulfillment of the university’s English Proficiency requirement and confirming citizenship information.
Serves as a Designated School Official (DSO), which involves issuing initial I-20's for incoming international students. Works in close partnership with the International Student and Scholar Center and participates in regular DSO trainings. Communicates with students on missing materials needed for I-20 issuance. Serves as a member of the undergraduate international admissions group which includes the Sr. Assistant Director for International Recruitment and the International Transfer Admissions Counselor.
