Assistant Preschool Teacher

This is a full-time position working with children ages 18 months to 3 years, with flexible split-shift scheduling available.

You will work alongside experienced educators in a supportive classroom environment, helping guide young children through their crucial early developmental stages. Montessori experience is not required —we provide complete training and professional development in the Montessori Method.

• Curriculum Support: Assist teachers in implementing a developmentally appropriate Montessori curriculum, including practical life activities, sensory experiences, and hands-on learning.
• Classroom Care & Environment: Help create a warm, engaging, and safe classroom. Prepare learning materials, organize spaces, and maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards.
• Supervision & Safety: Monitor children indoors and on the playground, ensuring a safe environment at all times.
• Daily Routines: Prepare and serve snacks in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
• Relationships: Build positive, respectful connections with children, families, and fellow team members while maintaining a professional, collaborative attitude.
• Compliance: Follow Washington State licensing requirements and applicable health and safety regulations.

• Education & Age: High school diploma or equivalent; must be at least 18 years of age.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills (bilingual candidates are warmly welcomed).
• Must successfully pass a Washington State DCYF background check.
• Must register with Washington State MERIT (Managed Education and Registry Information Tool) and possess a current STARS .
• Required Certifications (or willingness to obtain):
• CPR & First Aid certification
• Washington State Food Worker Card
• Current negative TB test or chest X-ray (as required)
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and comfortably bend, stoop, sit, stand, and remain active throughout the day.
