Description

To support Connected Energy’s business, we are seeking an experienced Commercial Specialist to support the commercial, contractual, and financial management of our expanding customer portfolio.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of Australia's energy transition, contributing to innovative energy solutions including embedded networks, microgrids, renewable energy integration, battery storage and electrification initiatives.

About

The Role

Reporting to the Executive – Connected Energy, you will play a key role in managing customer contracts, pricing strategies, commercial performance and regulatory compliance across our Connected Energy portfolio.

Working closely with customers, internal stakeholders, regulators, and service providers, you’ll help ensure that commercially viable, customer-focused energy solutions are delivered.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage electricity retail agreements, connection agreements, and energy supply contracts
  • Support contract negotiations, renewals, and customer retention activities
  • Develop commercial proposals, quotations, and tender submissions
  • Conduct pricing analysis and develop customer tariff structures
  • Monitor customer profitability, revenue performance, and commercial outcomes
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling activities
  • Assist in the development of new energy products and service offerings
  • Monitor regulatory developments and ensure compliance with energy market requirements
  • Resolve customer commercial issues and billing-related matters
  • Conduct market research and identify growth opportunities across the energy sector
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, regulators and internal stakeholders
About You

You are a commercially savvy professional who enjoys combining analytical thinking with stakeholder engagement. You can confidently navigate commercial agreements, pricing models, and customer relationships while maintaining a strong focus on business outcomes.

Essential Experience & Qualifications
  • Degree in Commerce, Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Energy Management or a related discipline
  • 3–7 years of experience in energy, utilities, commercial management or a related industry
  • Experience managing commercial contracts and customer relationships
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities
  • Understanding of electricity pricing, tariffs, and commercial drivers
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Highly Regarded
  • Experience with in Australian energy markets (NEM or WEM)
  • Knowledge of embedded networks, microgrids, renewable energy, or battery energy storage systems
  • Understanding of electricity distribution networks
  • Experience with CRM, billing or energy trading systems
  • Professional qualifications in contract management, finance or project management
