Position Summary

Commissioning is a quality assurance process that is invaluable to building and infrastructure owners, ensuring that systems and components are installed and operate as intended. This role gives you a chance to work both in the office and in the field with hands‑on testing of a range of systems to improve building performance, energy efficiency, reliability, and occupant comfort.

Essential Job Functions
  • Conduct field functional testing.
  • Create pre‑functional and functional checklists.
  • Lead commissioning meetings and manage the commissioning process for assigned projects.
  • Perform field observations and document test results.
  • Maintain issue resolution logs and compile commissioning reports.
  • Assist with project management duties as needed.
  • Follow internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Work safely and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
  • Additional duties as required.
Required Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering or a related field, or industry‑commensurate experience.
  • 8+ years of related industry experience and 2+ years of experience in data‑center commissioning, operations, or construction.
  • ANSI/ISO accreditation Cx certification (BCxA CCP, ACG CxA, ASHRAE BCxP).
  • Strong technical knowledge of data‑center MEP system design and operation, controls, and instrumentation.
  • Project management expertise, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning.
  • Exceptional client‑facing, client relationship, and client‑management skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and in team environments.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Safety‑first mindset.
  • Ability to climb ladders/stairs and lift/carry loads above 20 lbs.
  • Ability to be on a job site for extended periods (8‑10 hours).
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed, approximately 50%.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional licensure (PE license, Energy Management, or TAB certifications) is a plus.
  • Ability to manage QA/QC processes.
  • Electrical systems commissioning experience.
  • Experience with commissioning software or ongoing commissioning tools.
Military Experience

Candidates with commensurate experience gained from military service will be considered and are highly encouraged to apply.

  • Experience gaining and testing power systems such as nuclear power, battery systems, steam generation, hydroelectric plants, medium‑voltage distribution, and more.
  • Experience in commissioning, testing, or quality assurance of medium‑voltage power systems that include power plants, solar, electric vehicle charging, critical power systems, and more.
Work Environment and Location

This position requires regular travel to data‑center project sites, with 50–70% travel expected. A hybrid work environment requires two in‑office and/or on‑site days per week. All candidates must be located in and eligible to work in the U.S.

Compensation

Salary Range: $110,000 – $180,000 (depending on experience). The base salary range represents the low and high end of the compensation scale for this role. Actual salaries will be determined based on location, experience, responsibilities, and qualifications. This salary range is one component of Glumac’s total compensation package, which includes benefits, professional development opportunities, and additional incentives.
