Position Summary

The Engineering Design Associate will provide work management system, Design Tool data entry and general support to Designers as part of engineering and construction planning process. Candidates are expected to have strong computer systems knowledge and can work with independence in the E&CP tools. This position is accountable for providing accurate and timely work results which support safety, reliability, storm restoration, and cost management while providing quality customer service.

Specific

Responsibilities and Duties Subdivision Design
  • Utilize Maximo tools and Excel d-base to schedule new work orders for assignment to an engineering technologist for design based upon project complexity, designer skill level, designer assigned area and project timeline.
  • Review work order submissions for completeness and data accuracy ensuring the correct job plans are applied to provide the least cost design to the customer.
  • Communicate with internal customers regarding the status of their work orders to ensure on‑time project delivery.
  • Management of hold queue – communicate with internal customers regarding projects that have been on hold for greater than 60 days marking them not required when appropriate.
  • Communicate with external joint trench partners delivering approved preliminary subdivision project plans to ensure promised construction dates are met.
  • Manage designer workload using date management principles.
  • Enter subdivision lot service run information into the pre‑engineered database tool based upon project preliminary map.
  • Upload preliminary project maps into Centralized Design Preliminary Project map SharePoint.
SPCC/D‑D Substation
  • Upload SPCC Plans into Content and Search Tool (CASTPro) and Content Navigator/File Net

  • Communicate new plans, revised plans, or plan renewals to EHS professionals.
  • Maintain hard copies of SPCC Plans at NCRH.

Required Qualifications

Associate’s degree OR High School/GED and 2 plus years of work‑related experience.

This role does not have direct reports. This position does not progress into the engineering technologist hierarchy.
