About the RoleThe Senior Service Technician is responsible for commissioning, servicing, and maintaining energy storage equipment across active project sites. This role supports long-term service agreements, performs diagnostics, ensures uptime targets are met, and collaborates with engineering teams on technical issues. The position is ideal for a hands-on electrical technician with experience in BESS, inverters, SCADA, or industrial power systems.
Key Responsibilities- Commission and maintain battery energy storage equipment, including BESS enclosures, PCS, RMUs/switch gear, and transformers
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance in accordance with warranty and service agreements
- Diagnose issues related to electrical, controls, and communication systems
- Support onsite testing, inspections, and field-level troubleshooting
- Oversee subcontractors and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
- Maintain accurate work orders, service reports, and spare-parts inventory
- Execute LOTO procedures and switching activities as required
- Provide training and support to customers during commissioning
- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with site requirements
- 8+ years of experience in electrical service, power systems, or renewable energy field work
- Electrical technician certification strongly preferred
- Experience with inverters, MV equipment, SCADA systems, or industrial controls
- Familiarity with energy storage systems and national electrical codes
- OSHA 30 (or ability to obtain shortly after hire)
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to travel at least 50% to regional project sites
