Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join their fast-paced, highly collaborative IT team. This role is crucial in taking network operations to the next level by building a network roadmap, integrating best practices, and providing highly available, secure, and scalable network services.
This position is critical to maintaining and enhancing the network infrastructure.
What You Will Do:
- Architect and design network services across global offices, co-location facilities, and multi-cloud infrastructure.
- Design, implement, enhance, and support secure, scalable network architecture based on Cisco technologies.
- Assess existing network services and develop a long-term roadmap.
- Integrate proactive fault and problem detection, correction, and recovery processes into IT operations.
- Develop quarterly network reports to identify trends, improve security, and reduce service disruptions.
- Implement best-practice configuration management across the enterprise.
- Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to meet new business requirements.
- Build and maintain positive relationships and open communications across the organization.
Skills and Experience:
- Senior network engineering skills, specifically with Cisco and Meraki equipment.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Experience in network architecture and design, including re-architecting a network to minimize service interruptions.
- Familiarity with integrating on-premises networks with public cloud services like AWS and Azure.
- Proven track record identifying and championing appropriate new technologies that enhance network services.
- Experience in the implementation and maintenance of core networking including routing, switching, firewalls, ACLs, VLANs, S2S VPN, and P2S VPN.
- Solid understanding of routing protocols and network topologies such as BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, VPLS, BFD, HSRP.
- Experience implementing networking infrastructure for private cloud/hypervisor environments (mostly VMware).
- Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory-based security and Windows network security technologies, including DNS, DHCP.
Desirable
Qualifications:
- Professional Cisco Certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP or higher).
- Cloud certifications (Azure, AWS).
- VMware VCenter and ESXi knowledge.
- Windows systems engineering and administration knowledge.
