The role of a Structural Engineer is to work independently on small projects, and as a team member of larger projects under the guidance of a Senior Structural Engineer. The Structural Engineer will evaluate, select, and specify engineered systems or products for a project.

• Independently complete calculations and drawings for small projects
• Develop job-specific discipline specifications for less complex projects
• Coordinate with architectural, interior, and other engineering disciplines for project coordination
• Perform construction administration duties including field observations, RFIs, submittals, and contractor change orders
• Perform calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software
• Communicate design issues and solutions with the design team and owner clients
• Understand industry standard design processes and construction means and methods
• Work within project scope, budget, and design approach to deliver projects on time, on budget, and at a high level of client service
• Assist with development of design standards

• Requisite knowledge and application of structural design codes, standards and applicable building codes
• Strong knowledge of structural systems, seismic design, construction means and methods, materials, and industry standards
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in written form concepts and ideas to a diverse audience of architects, engineers, and owner clients effectively
• Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively both independently and in team settings
• Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought

• 3+ years of related experience
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (required), master’s degree (preferred)
• Professional Engineering license (required), structural engineering license (preferred)
• Experience with modeling software (Autodesk Revit)
• Experience with general business software (Microsoft Office suite)
• Experience with industry standard structural engineering software (CSI, RISA, RAM, etc.)
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
